POPE AUTHORISES PILGRIMAGES TO MEDJUGORJE
Good news of great joy from Medjugorje and reverberating to the farthest corners of the globe. Pope Francis has announced from the Vatican that pilgrimages to Medjugorje can officially be organised by dioceses and their bishops and by parish priests for their parishes. Up to the present pilgrimages were only allowed to be organised by lay persons. Archbishop Hoser, the Papal Envoy to Medjugorje, made the announcement in the presence of the Nuncio for Bosnia and Hercegovina, Archbishop Luigi Pezzuto, at the morning Mass in Medjugorje.

Polish Archbishop Henryk Hoser, whom Pope Francis has named as the 'Apostolic Visitor' to Medjugorje, and who now resides in Medjugorje indefinitely and oversees the pastoral care of pilgrims, announced the construction of expansion to the church area.
“An important argument in favour of Medjugorje is the statistics of Medjugorje itself," said Archbishop Hoser. "We see the number of pilgrims increasing, and not only that pilgrims come from all over the world, but, after their return home, they do everything to keep on living in the spirit they have discovered here in Medjugorje. It seems to me that there are more people in the world who know where Medjugorje is located than for the capital of BiH (Bosnia and Hercegovina) “
Archbishop Hoser will work in collaboration with the Franciscan friars and architects to build a suitable space for the growing number of pilgrims to occupy at the outside altar, to make it 'cool in summer and warm in winter.'
