Mir Pilgrims stay in the home of the brother of a visionary - the accommodation of choice for Mir Pilgrimage for over 20 years. Situated at the bottom of apparition hill, where it all began, have confidence knowing you are receiving a correct account of historical events, are being given the most up-to-date information and are having a truly authentic experience through Mir Pilgrimages’ personal, local Medjugorje connections.
PRELIMINARY ITINERARY (specific airline to be confirmed)
DAY 1 - 19 May AKL - ROME
Gather with your fellow pilgrims at Auckland International Airport and depart on an afternoon flight to Rome (or alternative European gateway).
Day 2 - 20 May ROME - SPLIT - MEDJUGORJE
Arrive early morning Rome and connect with our Croatia Airlines 1hr flight to Split, Croatia. Our driver and private coach will be waiting at Split Airport to transport us over the Croatian and Bosnia and Herzegovina borders to Medjugorje, where Our Lady, Queen of Peace is waiting for you. Arrival approx 7pm. Meet your host family and enjoy a light supper before retiring. (B:D)
20 through to 29 MAY
The following is a typical daily schedule in Medjugorje, which may change on a day to day basis depending on our group's personal programme:
The early days of the apparitions come alive for you as your Medjugorje parish guide walks and talks you through what really happened (and continues to happen) as told by the visionaries and eye-witness accounts.
DAY 3 - ORIENTATION
We begin after breakfast by walking in to town through the vineyards in time for 10am English Mass. Your group leader will guide you past significant sites as we walk to the Church of St James. Those who choose not to walk can take a taxi to town.
After Mass, our guide will give us an orientation of the immediate shrine area before lunch. The afternoon is free time as this is your first day after a long journey.
The programme in Medjugorje includes the following:
Day 12 - 30 MAY MEDJUGORJE - SPLIT - ROME
Depart for Split Airport after English Mass. Fly to Rome or Frankfurt and connect with international flight to NZ.
31 MAY - in transit
Possible overnight or extended hours stay in transit.
1 JUNE
Arrival at Auckland International Airport at approx lunchtime.

The programme in Medjugorje includes the following:
- Daily English Mass every morning (10am weekdays; midday on Sundays) and evening international pilgrim prayer programme consisting of Rosary, Holy Mass, prayers for healing, blessing of religious articles and confessions.
- Visit the Risen Christ statue that miraculously weeps liquid and is a place of quiet prayer and reflection.
- Experience evening exposition the Medjugorje way – held outdoors in the church grounds in warmer weather and attended every evening by thousands.
- Meet with the visionaries and Franciscan friars at scheduled times during the week. Talks will be given to language groups depending on the availability of speakers.
- Climb the small Hill of Apparitions (Podbrdo) while praying and stopping at plaques representing each decade finishing at Our Lady’s statue at the summit. If unable to do the Rosary climb, there is lovely Rosary garden behind the church.
- Climb Cross Mountain (Krizevac) and make the Way of the Cross. If unable to climb, do the Way of the Cross below behind the church in the lovely garden.
- Visit the community of Cenacolo founded by Italian nun Mother Elvira and hear the testimonies of the young men from around the world who were in the grip of drink and drug addictions and have found healing and peace.
- Soak up the atmosphere of the holy valley – alone or with the group – strolling through the village and its vineyards, relaxing in one of its many cafes, enjoying the sharing of experiences and interacting with the locals who have hosted millions of pilgrims since June 1981.
- Take half or full day excursions to places of historical and cultural interest; a full day in Dubrovnik (that enjoys world heritage status) and a half day in Mostar. These excursions are arranged around the pilgrimage and are optional.
- Indulge in personal time and reflection.

Depart for Split Airport after English Mass. Fly to Rome or Frankfurt and connect with international flight to NZ.
31 MAY - in transit
