Mir Pilgrims stay in the home of a visionary's family - the accommodation of choice for Mir Pilgrimages for over 20 years. Situated at the bottom of apparition hill where it all began, pilgrims enjoy an authentic experience due to Mir Pilgrimages' personal, local connections.
PRELIMINARY TENTATIVE ITINERARY
DAY 1 - 22 May AKL - European Gateway (tbc)
Gather with your fellow pilgrims at Auckland International Airport and depart on an evening flight. (airline tbc)
Day 2 - 23 May SPLIT - MEDJUGORJE
Connect with our Croatia Airlines flight in Europe and fly into Eastern Europe, Split, Croatia. Our driver and private coach will be waiting at Split Airport to transport us over the Croatian Border into Bosnia and Herzegovina to Medjugorje. Meet your host family and enjoy a light supper before retiring.

The following is a typical daily schedule in Medjugorje, which may change on a day to day basis depending on our group's personal programme:
The early days of the apparitions come alive for you as your Medjugorje parish guide walks and talks you through what really happened (and continues to happen) as told by the visionaries and eye-witness accounts.
We begin after breakfast by strolling in to town through the vineyards in time for 10am English Mass at St James Church. Your group leader will guide you past significant sites and point out places of interest en-route. (15-20min walk). Taxi ride available.
After Mass and a morning tea break, we'll meet our parish guide who will give us an orientation of the immediate shrine area and pilgrim facilities before lunch. The afternoon is left for free time to rest and relax on your first day after a long journey.

After farewells and a final Mass, depart for Split Airport and connect with international flights to NZ.
04 JUNE
Arrival at Auckland International Airport at approx lunchtime.

The programme in Medjugorje includes the following:
- Daily English Mass every morning (10am weekdays; midday on Sundays) and evening international pilgrim prayer programme consisting of Rosary, Holy Mass, prayers for healing, blessing of religious articles and confessions.
- Visit the Risen Christ statue that miraculously weeps from the knee of Christ and is a place of quiet prayer and reflection.
- Experience evening exposition the Medjugorje way three nights a week – held outdoors in the church grounds in warmer weather and attended every evening by thousands.
- Meet with the visionaries and Franciscan friars at scheduled times during the week. Talks will be given to language groups depending on the availability of speakers.
- Climb the small Hill of Apparitions (Podbrdo) while praying and stopping at plaques representing each decade finishing at Our Lady’s statue at the summit. If unable to do the Rosary climb, there is lovely Rosary garden behind the church. Visit the grotto 'Blue Cross' site of hundreds of apparitions and close to our accommodation.
- Climb Cross Mountain (Krizevac) and make the Stations of the Cross. If unable to climb, do the Way of the Cross behind the church in the lovely garden.
- Visit the community of Cenacolo founded by Italian nun Mother Elvira and hear the testimonies of the young men from around the world who were in the grip of drink and drug addictions and have found healing and peace.
- Soak up the atmosphere of the holy valley – alone or with the group – strolling through the village and its vineyards, relaxing in one of its many cafes, enjoying the sharing of experiences and interacting with the locals who have hosted millions of pilgrims since June 1981.
- Take half or full day excursions to places of historical and cultural interest; a full day in Dubrovnik (that enjoys world heritage status) and a half day in Mostar. These excursions are arranged around the pilgrimage and are optional. Visit parishes outside Medjugorje but still significant to events.
- Indulge in personal time and reflection.
